三星 “Solve For Tomorrow” 激发学生对科学、技术、 工程与数学 (STEM)的好奇与兴趣

随着改革创新迅速改变我们的世界,让下一代做好准备是至关重要的,他们不仅要适应,而且要在以科技为主的未来,茁壮成长并超越自我。 为了实现这一目标,大马三星正在开展一项名为“Solve For Tomorrow”的全球教育计划。这是一项比赛,旨在激发学生的好奇心并培养他们对科学、技术、工程和数学(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics,简称STEM)教育的兴趣,同时启发学生以STEM的创新解决方案帮助改善和解决当地社区面临的问题。


“重要的是,下一代必须具备所需的基本技能、知识和态度以适应科技变革并从科技新机遇中受益。 我们相信他们有潜力达到创新的新高度,并开发改变社会的解决方案。 因此三星致力于通过此“Solve For Tomorrow”教育计划来帮助他们实现这一目标。” 大马三星电子总裁金润秀说道。 


与马来亚大学STEM中心合作推行的“Solve For Tomorrow”是一项特殊的比赛,旨在培养在籍学生的创新思维,创造性解决问题和团队的合作精神。 此项比赛乃开放给参与学校的中一和中二学生。这些学校将获得马来亚大学STEM中心会定期为他们提供各种STEM活动来帮助学生增强学习体验。“Solve For Tomorrow”比赛将于2020年10月9日开始,并于2020年12月8日结束,当天宣布优胜者。


马来亚大学STEM中心主任Ir. Dr. Mas Sahidayana Mohktar说:“我们必须增强年轻人在科学与技术方面的知识,以解决未来无法预测的问题。只要给予他们正确的工具,他们必能画出一幅好画。而确保其机制正确无误的最佳方式,就得通过科学与技术教育的管道。” 


参赛者必须找出现今社区所面对的问题,并根据STEM技术开发一个解决方案。他们可以自由选择4大主题,即保健、教育、环境及社会问题中选出任何一项来提出自己的想法以进行角逐。由三名学生组成的队伍须呈上一篇论文,以描述想要解决的问题以及他们如何应用STEM制定创造性解决方案。第二回合将选出10组表现最优异的队伍,他们须完善他们的想法与点子,然后以 PowerPoint演示出来。

比赛第三回合是选出三强队伍,参赛者将被要求以选择创造原型提高他们的演示。每个队伍必须呈上一个关于其演示及原型功能的录影。最后三强将在最后阶段以他们的创新STEM解决方案打动评审,以争取最后胜利并赢得价值高达RM37,900的奖品。

比赛优胜者将成功为自己的学校及自己赢走三星产品。首奖队伍将为自己的学校赢得价值高达RM16,900的三星产品,每一位队员亦可获得价值高达 RM7,000的三星产品。而次奖队伍将可为自己的学校赢得价值高达RM13,500的三星产品,每一位队员则可获得价值高达 RM6,000的三星产品。三奖队伍则可为学校赢得价值高达RM10,000的三星产品,每一位队员则可获得价值高达RM5,400的三星产品。评审标准将以创新解决方案的问题关联性、创意性、想法的可行性、STEM的应用及其演示为主。 


“我们相信Solve for Tomorrow比赛是学生接触科学及技术的极佳平台,他们可利用技术充分发挥潜力。这也是一个好机会,以激发及鼓励学生对STEM方面的好奇,从而在社会上有所作为。” 金润秀最后总结。
